Rev. 140, B1190–B1192 (1965)Quadrupole Deformation in Li7Received 30 July 1965; published in the issue dated December 1965 The quadrupole deformation of Li7 is calculated by generating many-particle wave functions from deformed single-particle orbitals. In order to account for the E2 properties of Li7 and retain the dominance of the basic shell-model configuration, excitation of the (1s)4 core must be included.
