Phys. Rev. A 65, 022512 (2002) [10 pages]L1 atomic-level width of elements 62 <~Z<~83
P.-A. Raboud, M. Berset, J.-Cl. Dousse, and Y.-P. Maillard Received 7 September 2001; published 17 January 2002 High-resolution measurements of the photoinduced dipole-forbidden L1-M4,5 x-ray emission lines were performed with a reflection-type and a transmission-type bent-crystal spectrometer for 62Sm, 67Ho, 70Yb, 74W, 78Pt, 80Hg, and 83Bi. From the observed linewidths of the L1-M4,5 x-ray transitions, the level widths of the subshell L1 were determined assuming for the M4,5 level widths the values reported recently by Campbell and Papp [X-ray Spectrom. 24, 307 (1995); At.
