We report on experiments at the K edges of As and Se on single crystals of three compositions within the solid solutions U(As1-xSex). These materials are all antiferromagnetic with the principal magnetic moment on the uranium ion. The enhancement of intensity over the weak nonresonant (energy-independent) signal is similar at both the K edges of As and Se. The polarization and energy dependence of the scattering is similar to that observed previously in pure UAs [D. Mannix et al., Phys. Rev. Lett. 86, 4128 (2001)], suggesting a dipole signal associated with the anion 4p states.
