Phys. Rev. C 71, 047902 (2005) [4 pages]Probability distributions in statistical ensembles with conserved charges
J. Cleymans *
K. Redlich † and L. Turko ‡ Received 21 December 2004; published 29 April 2005 The probability distributions for charged particle numbers and their densities are derived in statistical ensembles with conservation laws. It is shown that if this limit is properly taken, then the canonical and grand canonical ensembles are equivalent. This equivalence is proven on the most general probability distribution level. ©2005 The American Physical Society
