Analysis of the Anomalous Temperature-Dependent Resistivity on Potassium below 1.6 K

Recent precision measurements of the resistivity of potassium between 0.38 and 1.6 K revealed a surprising T1.5 temperature dependence. We show that scattering of electrons by phasons—the collective excitations of an incommensurate charge-density wave—can provide an explanation.
