Phys. Rev. Lett. 83, 3108 - 3111 (1999)Radiation Corrections Increase Tunneling Probability
V. V. Flambaum1 and V. G. Zelevinsky2 * Received 29 December 1998 We calculate the QED effect of the renormalization of the bare potential for the tunneling of a charged particle due to the interaction with its own radiation field (an analog of the Lamb shift for tunneling). It is demonstrated that radiative corrections increase the tunneling probability. ©1999 The American Physical Society
