Create PROLA Account

This form is only for APS members who have signed up for a member subscription to PROLA (by sending e-mail to membership@aps.org), have signed the Member Subscriber Agreement, and have not yet chosen a personal username and password. If you have already chosen a username and would like to change your password, please use the PROLA Change Password Form instead.

Please fill out all of fields in the form below. You should have received the registration password in the response to your subscription request. If you do not have the registration password, please e-mail membership@aps.org.


Users can choose their own usernames and passwords for convenience. At the very least, you must choose a new password. Leaving the Username field blank will result in your username being your membership ID (also known as your membership number, without the 'M' that is sometimes prepended). Usernames can be up to 12 characters long (letters (a-z), numbers, or underscores) and will be case-insensitive. If your chosen username has already been selected by another user, you will have to select another one. Usernames cannot be easily changed once you select it, so choose carefully.

You should not use a username and password from one of your regular computer accounts!
