Physical Review Letters – 21 October 2002
Volume 89, Issue 17

Neutron-holographic images of the 12 Pb neighbors of a Cd nucleus (not shown) in a doped fcc Pb crystal using the recently proposed 'inside-detector' method. In this method, the Cd nucleus acts as the detector, absorbing neutrons from a superposition of coherent direct and scattered neutron waves and subsequently emitting a gamma ray. [L. Cser, Gy. Török, G. Krexner, I. Sharkov, and B. Faragó, Phys. Rev. Lett. 89, 175504 (2002)]
