Plot of momentum correlation in the multiphoton double ionization of neon. The horizontal and vertical axes show, respectively, the component of the momentum in the polarization direction for each of the emitted electrons; the tendency is for both to be emitted in the same direction, in contrast to the back-to-back emission seen in single-photon double ionization.
